Bu eser, Félix Ziem adlı Fransız ressamın bir çalışması olabilir. Félix Ziem, 19. yüzyılın tanınmış oryantalist ve manzara ressamlarından biridir. Ziem, özellikle Venedik ve İstanbul gibi Akdeniz şehirlerinin romantik manzaralarını betimleyen tablolarıyla ünlüdür. Çalışmaları, canlı renk paleti, ışık oyunları ve atmosferik kompozisyonlarıyla dikkat çeker.
Bu tabloda, İstanbul Boğazı'ndaki bir sahne tasvir edilmiştir. Görüntüde, büyük bir yelkenli gemi, küçük tekneler, kıyıda cami ve diğer Osmanlı dönemi yapıları yer alır. Ziem'in tarzı, bu tür sahnelerde suyun yüzeyindeki ışık oyunlarını ve gökyüzündeki bulutların hareketini zarif bir şekilde resmetmesiyle tanınır.
